Lou Sandoval

Lou Sandoval


Lou Sandoval is the Founder and Chair of the Board at Halo Advisory Group, Inc. This management consulting firm helps Fortune 100 clients and private equity-backed companies grow strategically, improve operations, and implement technology-driven initiatives. He has decades of global business experience as a leader, advisor, and board member. He is also the former President and CEO of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, a statewide business advocacy group focused on enhancing the competitiveness of employers across all industries and sizes.

Lou has been on the Wintrust Bank Board of Directors since 2015, where he chairs the Risk Management Committee and participates in the Nominating, Compensation, and Governance Committees. He has over 30 years of experience in business development, mergers and acquisitions, technology, and strategic growth leadership, along with more than two decades of service on nonprofit and civic boards.

His corporate and advisory work includes leading technology-focused organizational transformations across health care, business services, durable consumer products, and industrial markets. His diverse experience has given him a broad strategic perspective and made him a trusted advisor to corporate leaders and innovators. He also serves on the advisory boards of two early-stage companies in satellite communications and marine technology.

Lou’s civic leadership includes board service with the Illinois Humanities Council and the Grant Park Music Festival. He also serves on the Labor, Agriculture, and Small Business Committee of the Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Additional past roles include leadership positions on the Boy Scouts of America Board of Directors and a decade on the board of the Chicago Yacht Club, where he served as its sixty-ninth commodore and chair. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of Epic Academy, a charter high school in the South Chicago community where he grew up.

Lou lives on Chicago’s South Side with his wife and two daughters. He is an accomplished offshore sailor who has won the storied Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac nine times.
